Before and After

Who doesn’t love a good before and after? Whether it’s a new hair style or new room styling, a fresh approach is always welcome. In my opinion the easiest way to update Interiors comes down to these three basics:

Fresh Paint – especially for wood trims
Replacing carpet with hardwood
Updated lighting

These photos beautifully illustrate these ideas:

Fresh paint – replacing the “builders white” with a soft grey creates good contrast for this space.  Note the wood banister has been painted to give a more uniformed look.

Hardwood flooring visually expands this interior,  but appropriate sized area rugs can be added to anchor a space also.

A modern lighting fixture updates and completes the look.

Easy as one, two, three! Paint, flooring, light fixtures.

You Had Me at Small Batch . . .

Just when I thought I knew everything there was to know about paint, Benjamin Mooore has introduced their “Century Collection”.

This stunning new paint line is pre-mixed, small-batch paint, in a soft touch matte finish. The depth of color is amazing!

There are 75 colors in this collection and even the paint decks are hand painted to give a true representation of the color.

Here are a few examples of the look:

Impressive, right?  The price is a little high, approximately $125.00 per gallon, similar to the cost of wallpaper for a room.  I can’t wait to try it!
